Which problem do we solve?

Shopping experiences are increasingly taking place digitally – does local retail still have a future? We think so!

The future of local retail lies in the consistent connection of the analogue and the digital world. So far, digital innovations have been driven mainly by global players. Medium-sized companies are almost always uninvolved. Customer experiences and services differ considerably in both worlds. Until now, too few medium-sized companies see the opportunity that this connection holds for them.

Customers become more challenging, they are impatient in terms of product availability. They want individual advices and services – anytime and for free, if possible.

Additionally, topics like sustainability, supply chains and climate protection are increasingly on customers minds. The need for data protection correlates with the willingness of customers to share personal data, provided that this creates a personal added value. Availability and especially the intelligent use of data in retail – that is the main challenge!

Technology

Our Vision

The scope of our platform lies within intelligent retail. It connects online and stationary retail, serves the strategic marketing and makes digital solutions usable for individual customer service.

We aim to realize a transfer of technology into mid-sized businesses on a federal as well as international basis. Bremen based scientists have worked out outstanding approaches in artificial intelligence. Within the scope of retail and service robotics, these approaches enable a newly-created large-scale platform with enormous change potential – Knowledge4Retail.

K4R has established a new generation of information systems for retail and its supply chains as a digital innovation platform and ecosystem.

The AI-based platform is available as an open source solution and will benefit the entire retail industry.
