In order to demonstrate the transferability of the platform to similar domains, a pilot application will demonstrate how the platform can interact with a cash-free, smart refrigerator that operates on the “go” concept. This use case will demonstrate the future of Automated Autonomous Retail, which automates traditional merchandise management and point-of-sale. The smart refrigerator is able to independently recognize, track, manage and sell its stock.
Through the use of sensors, the already existing solution makes it possible to identify and associate customers and items, e.g. to recognise which user has taken or returned which item. The integration of the K4R platform enables the transfer of the application in stationary stores to a similar environment, whereby the integration of all sensor and IoT data for analysis is superficially important. Based on this data, for example, the refill through real-time inventory management and the fulfillment planning are improved and the dynamic customer behavior is analysed using AI.
